Iceland’s Recent Volcanic Eruption And Its Impact On The Environment And Economy Of Europe


Eyjafjallajokull is Iceland’s less imposing volcano. It has been very active since the planet’s most recent ice age and it was last chronicled eruption, before 2010, took place in the 1800s. The mountain’s volcanic liveliness has always predated an explosion from a bigger, more hazardous Icelandic volcano, called Katla, located nearby. Though luckily, Katla, has remained stable in April’s eruption, the anxiety of another possible eruption has been momentarily forgotten as the volcano’s negative impacts on the airlines, the environment, and the economy of the affected countries are fixed.
